Learning Objectives in the USACE-NAVFAC Aerial Lift Safety Course

This material is for training purposes only. It is to be used to assist the Project Manager, SSHO, and site workers with the best practices when working on USACE or NAFCAC construction projects. This course is not intended as a substitute for experience, however the information learned throughout the course, along with the downloadable training materials will help the student excel in the federal construction field.

Aerial lifts provide a safe and reliable platform for workers to perform job tasks when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. When not used properly, aerial lifts can present
a serious hazard to workers. Employers are responsible for keeping workers safe. This course highlights specific hazards present in workplaces where aerial lifts are used and controls
employers must implement to prevent injuries or fatalities. The course materials will be an excellent reference for you to use when working on NAVFAC or USACE construction projects. This course is for everyone working on construction sites. The Site Safety and Health Officer who needs their 8-hour mandatory continuing education credits for the year will get 2 hours of credits once he or she passes the course.
